ABOUT NUNO
Born in 1963, Nuno Fitz has been producing fused stained-glass panels and interior design objects since 1990 at his contemporary glass « research kitchen ».
Together with the traditional production of interior design objects using sheet glass, this “research kitchen” has explored combining beauty of form with recycled raw materials, such as post-consumer glass bottles.
Nuno Fitz, in his contemporary glass « research kitchen », produces many things with high quality fusing compatible colored glass, industrial float glass or crushed bottle glass: fused stained glass windows, wall panelling with backlight, light glass brick for partition walls, standing panels, art mirrors, floors, glass tiles, lamps, decorative objects, jewelry, sculptures and other curved and flat pieces for complement of other designer’s objects / projects.
His creations sometimes include alien materials such as silver, gold or copper, gold leaf, and sometimes even sand. Processes include crushing, cutting, casting, fusing, polishing, sandblasting, and fusing again to obtain the intended beauty both in traditional transparency and in radical sculptural opaque textures.
